Description

Kumu masks come from the Kumu people who inhabit the Ituri rainforest in the Eastern part of the Congo

Moon Ritual trays are a unique hand-made ceramic object from the Belgium artist Marlies Huybs

These containers would have originally been used to collect milk and to carry food

We love the unique shapes carved into this container and the distinctive patina of the wood that has occurred over use and time

Tonga Stool 43 Kumu masks come from theOur collection of Tonga stools originate from the Tonga people of Zimbabwe. The stools have been hand carved by the community using indigenous wood. The maker creates unique designs each time, so no two stools are identical. As the Tonga stool is used as a portable seat which is carried to neighbouring communities for ceremonies and gatherings they often vary in size, with the larger stool and more difficult stools to transport harder to come by.
