I set out to photograph this recent snowfall along Eakin Creek West on this 2nd day of the New Year

To help me balance out the exposure of this scene I used a 2 stop neutral density filter

false sunflowers and yellow coneflowers that I had just photographed

WALKING THROUGH AN ETHEREAL ATMOSPHERE TRAIL I reached the trailhead beforeI awakened to a heavy fog outside and was up and out the door to photograph the wildflowers before 5: 00 am. The fog was going to be around for a few more hours so photographing any kind of sunrise was out of the question. After photographing the wildflowers for a couple hours, the fog was still about and peaked my interest to find subjects that would help compliment the atmosphere that the fog brought to the landscape.
