Description

every 3 to 4 months the Karamajong people will move their cattle in search of water and pasture and they are skilled in creating functional pieces that are easy to transport from materials readily found in their harsh desert environment

This vintage Tonga stool is one of our favourites

Our Senufo stools are vintage pieces curated from the Senufo people of the Ivory Coast

Our natural bowl has been hand-carved in Indonesia from Suar wood with natural markings in the wood

Tonga Stool 28 every 3 to 4 monthsOur collection of Tonga stools originate from the Tonga people of Zimbabwe. The stools have been hand carved by the community using indigenous wood. The maker creates unique designs each time, so no two stools are identical. As the Tonga stool is used as a portable seat which is carried to neighbouring communities for ceremonies and gatherings they often vary in size, with the larger stool and more difficult stools to transport harder to come by.
