I hunkered down and hid in the willows - and was rewarded with a great encounter: this lynx “On the Prowl” with its partner

I tried to keep her environment as natural as possible in preparation for her eventual release

Salmon, plentiful in this area, play an important role in the diet of these bears. The mother to the three cubs in this photograph had crossed the river to fish. The river was flowing too quickly for the triplets to follow, so they anxiously waited for her to return. The cubs were also keenly aware of a large male bear meandering towards them.
