Army 75mm M5A1 Type 1 brass shell case, manufactured by B. B. Co. (Bridgeport Brass Company) and dated 1943, is an excellent example of American wartime ordnance production. The 75mm M5A1 cartridge case was used with U. S. artillery pieces and tank mounted guns, including those fitted to vehicles such as the M3 Lee Grant and early Sherman variants, as well
