A beautiful sunset appears on this December evening as the sun touches the horizon sending sunbursts through this prairie landscape scene with Eakin Creek West catching the colors of the sky above at Wildflower Park in Northern Illinois

It had been a quiet and peaceful walk along the creek while looking for subjects to photograph

The area is made up of sandstone and was carved out by glacier melt water

A WINTER WALK THROUGH THE PARK AMERICAN TREE SPARROW A beautiful sunset appears onAfter receiving 2 3 inches of snow overnight, I set out to photograph this recent snowfall along Eakin Creek West on this 2nd day of the New Year. The temperature was in the mid 20's with little to no wind and overcast conditions. After photographing the creek for about an hour, I came upon these burr oak trees highlighted by the snowfall on the branches that always make for a beautiful scene. (684 3428)
