TO PROPERLY USE THIS YOU MUST INSERT KEY, THEN TURN "CLOCKWISE". IF YOU WERE TO TURN IT COUNTERCLOCKWISE, IT WILL NOT OPEN, IF THIS HAPPENS TO RESET THE INNER MECHANISM YOU MUST PUSH THE LOCK RING , TURN THE KEY CLOCKWISE TILL YOU FEEL IT HIT THE INTERNAL SPRING THEN IT WILL BE "RESET". I TRIED IT 10 TIMES, HAD NO ISSUES,
