Basically this would have contained samples to test for various types of chemicals, like types of gas. The box looks incomplete and like someone repurposed it at some point. Its been mostly overpainted in black except for the inside lid where the spring loaded pads are for the sample jars. There are some patchy areas on the sides where it looks like something was welded on or removed. Marked ggm 41.
